For those of us not involved in the craft, it’s fabulous to know that the two skills of fashion designing and knitting can come together in such a great magazine. It has a bit of the “extreme ironing” vibe going on. After all, we’d expect catwalk styles to be light years away from that old scarf your auntie notched together.
These patterns are so trendy they are a class apart and enable you to create articles that really should impress. We are not talking about stereotypical needlework here. Readers of Designer Knitting magazine are part of the new breed of “hip knitters”, apparently.
It’s great to see and a really worthwhile read if you want to create fashionable attire from lacework to scarves. If you are still making woolly hats and Christmas jumpers (good on you, but), you’d do worse than try a copy of Designer Knitting.
It’s a great thought, Christmas dinner is done and Grandma is shuffling down the corridor with a big bag of pressies. You know what’s in there - the whole family knows - Granny has put together a huge knitted jumper for each and every one of you. How wrong can you be, because “G” has bought herself a copy of Designer Knitting magazine and she’s put together some of the hippest woollens you’ve ever laid you eyes on. Blimey, she’s even developed what looks like a fake limp.
