Slam magazine brings you all the hype from the world of American basketball, and that is frankly an impressive amount of hype. In fact, we have a sneaking suspicion that basketball is a pretty big thing in America. The likes of Kobe Bryant, LeBron, Derrick Rose and Dirk Nowitzki regularly make the headlines, and it has arguably always been a sport where heroes are made. Whilst a team game in name, it is all about the individual performances when it comes down to it – after all, only one player has the ball at any one time, and it is up to them to make the best possible use of it.
Names like Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson have dominated the sport in recent memory, suggesting that not only do you have to be impressively tall and incredibly good at basketball to become a legend of the sport, having a name or nickname that starts with M and J helps. Nevertheless a new era of heroes is being forged – and some of the stars will be those mentioned above.
So, to keep up to date with all the latest happenings (as long as there isn’t another lockout – something that seems frankly unbelievable to us here in the UK), a copy of Slam magazine is highly recommended. NB
