Tattoo Society magazine is a comparatively new publication compared with other tattoo magazines. It is entirely obsessed with tattoos and the culture that comes with it. With Tattoos leaving the burley biker trademark and becoming more main-stream, Tattoo Society aims to bring the magazine market up to date with all the latest in the sector, with the best new tattoo imagery from reknowned artists as well as interviews and event information

This magazine’s mantra is ‘good art for great artists’, it aims to bring new and controversial ideas to the forefront of the tattoo industry. It would be particularly useful for up and coming tattoo artists who are in search of some more inspiration and ideas. The magazine differs from other similar magazines because it is aimed to be read by the tattoo artists themselves and not potential customers as such. While other tattoo magazines give ideas to readers who want a tattoo in the future, this magazine is aimed to inspire and encourage the artists on the opposite end of the scale. The magazine is predominately made up of images of various different tattoos by a large number of different artists. There will also be 2 or 3 interviews with the best established tattoo artists which provide an insight into how they got started into the business.

Many of the images are pretty amazing to look at. Some of them don’t even look like a tattoo anymore and they start to look like paintings. We will probably never get a tattoo ourselves but we were very impressed by the work displayed. There was a section of famous musicians and actors; one young man had a Bob Marley tattoo on his back while another had Marilyn Monroe on their arm. They all looked pretty impressive. However the most bizarre and probably the biggest tattoo we saw in Tattoo Society was one of a mermaid which had the face and torso on a man’s back and her tail and hair trailed all the way down the man’s left leg, right down to his ankle! It looks phenomenal and must have taken days to complete! We couldn’t quite believe our eyes!
