This impressively weighty and just impressive publication is essential reading for anyone who considers themself to be something of a connoisseur when it comes to the art world. It is happy to take a look at things from across the spectrum of art, rather than limiting itself to one form or another it covers an eclectic mix of forms of culture and expression.

Quarterly was definitely the best way to go for ArtForum. It combines the maximum of time to artfully construct the content and create the feel and tone of the magazine whilst remaining current in what it covers. Any more a year and it might have felt rushed, any less and you’d have a hard time picking it up – it’s plenty hefty as-is at the moment.

This publication has been excellently produced, being full of informed and intelligent observation and some excellent work of art. We certainly felt a bit more cultured after reading a copy, with the articles helping explain the themes and inspiration behind some of the works, and the interviews with artists offering a fascinating glimpse into the minds of creative geniuses. If you only pick up one art publication this season, ArtForum will serve all your art-y needs. NB
