Also covers radio listings. Perfect for those who want to know what to watch and when.

Say what you like about the digital switchover being an annoying enforced policy without any choice from the consumer, it has actually been fantastic in terms of what we can now watch for free on the old tellybox. Freeview and FreeSat bring you a plethora of channels from a variety of different providers, and all for a one time fee (excluding the TV licence of course). For those willing to venture further into the world of television there are some great deals out there from Virgin, Sky and even BT, bringing you movies, top notch programming and live sports all at the press of a button.

We remember the good old days of only four, and depending on location, five channels. You could be sure that everything on TV was going to be pretty good, as there was so little space that the competition was pretty fierce. This meant that even the best programs had pretty limited runs, and that whenever there was some important live event such as a big football match or similar that what you wanted to watch was pushed aside. You know what, scratch that ‘good old days’ nonsense – there is so much more on TV nowadays that even if you have to look a little harder, you are guaranteed to find something to make you smile, cry or laugh, and to help you in this quest a copy of Total TV Guide is a worthwhile companion.
