032C is one of those magazines that is a little hard to quantify. It is unarguably German, somehow, and sports a fierce sense of youth and intelligence. Most of what we read within the current issue was entirely new to us, which is something we always love in a magazine. Calling it a magazine is perhaps a bit of a misnomer, as it is nicely weighty and well deserving of the title it claims; ‘Manual for Freedom, Research and Creativity’.
This is such a nicely ambiguous yet accurate description that it suits the magazine perfectly. It is definitely a manual, there’s no doubt about that. Freedom, well, that could mean anything – you very rarely nowadays see anyone who is particularly against ‘freedom’ as a concept. Research, well that’s basically another word for looking at stuff, and generally speaking journalism and writing for magazines involves quite a lot of work. Creativity, well perhaps here’s where we truly find the defining feature of 032C. It’s brimming with creativity, full of cleverness, inspiration and beauty. Now we just need to find out what the name means… NB
