Mountain Bike Action is a magazine of many qualities – it brings you all the latest news of the hobby as well as some absolutely fascinating features and interviews covering some of the leading names in mountain biking. Where it truly excels, however, is in the product testing and reviews section.
Seldom before have we seen such a thorough approach to reviewing all the latest equipment. Every bike that they test is taken out on the trail by an experienced rider and put through its paces. And we mean properly, they don’t just take them round the block and write some slightly exaggerated prose about how they pushed their limits, no. In order to recommend something as practical as a mountain bike you need to test it to within an inch of its life to fully understand and appreciate it, and that is what happens here.
What is impressive, however, (not that that isn’t impressive!) is that they do the same for every piece of kit or gear they feature, whether that be a helmet, chainguide, tires or pedals, you can guarantee that they’ve been taken out for a spin. We appreciate all the hard work that the Mountain Bike Action team (makes them sound like superheroes rather, doesn’t it?) put in, and it is certainly reflected in the quality of the magazine. NB
