Milk Kids fashion collection magazine is a beautifully made publication. Packed full of colourful styles and colours for children, it’s a bilingual title in English and French - but realistically it’s all about visual ideas for dressing up the little ones.

It’s always a race to be the first to catch onto the latest and greatest spring/summer look. Summer garden parties, after school clubs and sun kissed adventures require the utmost style, but also absolute comfort and ease of movement. Milk is a whopper of a read with a multitude of great ideas for ages 0-16, depending on the brand.

So what catches your eye? Smart suit jackets in miniature, adorable floral print frocks or surfer style hoodies and tees? Obviously it depends on the occasion. A family affair calls for boys in a pair of clean jeans, an open neck shirt with a soft linen blazer, perhaps with a boater if it’s super sunny. For this kind of look, I salute Kicokids for their smart casual boyswear. Little girls, on the other hand, always look adorable in floral prints and pastels during the summer time, and I suggest KENZO kids, but watch out for anything white because if you take your eye of them for one second, you’ll have a tonne of grass stains to deal with! If this sounds familiar, you can’t go wrong with classic nautical. My favourite collection for this has to be the Jours après Lunes page, which is bursting at the seams with navy blue and white striped affairs with bow detail.

So, is there a greater reward than looking back at photos of your young ones and knowing that they won’t be embarrassed by your choice of wardrobe? I know I’ll always regret my mother’s decision to send me to school in a pair of jungle themed leggings…
