If there’s one thing that we like to do now and then, it’s get away from it all. Life can sometimes feel like one big lump of stress, one of those gigantic balls made up from rubber bands where everything is under huge amounts of tension, and just occasionally a strand might go ‘twang’. You’ve got work during the day, kids to take care of and find the time to play with, maybe some kind of hobby or interest that takes up your spare time, cooking, cleaning… It’s a miracle that any of us make it through the day without snapping.

So, every now and then it is great to just take a break, send the kids off for a weekend sleepover with a considerate friend, and head off to a hotel for a bit of a getaway. The simple but undeniable wonder of a good hotel is that they do pretty much everything for you. There is no need to wash any sheets, clean the place to any great degree, no responsibilities aside from paying the bill. We can all appreciate just how good a weekend away from all the rewarding but stressful parts of life can be, so to those good people who are the readers of The Caterer, and thus those who run our little getaways, we say thank you.
