Stand magazine publishes works by established as well as new writers and will accept submissions of poetry, fiction and criticism. The magazine’s editorial office is in Leeds University. We were pleased to see that some of the poems in one particular issue of Stand magazine were the first published piece of work for some of the writers. We admire Stand for allowing new writers to get a chance to showcase their unsung talents.
We were impressed with the variety and high standard of the work available in Stand magazine, we don’t think even the pickiest poetry enthusiasts could fault any of these poems. We liked how the writers have managed to bring a subject to life by using clever descriptions and imagery. All in all this is one of our favourite poetry magazines here at Newsstand, in our opinion. It is nicely compact and still manages to squeeze as much poetry and writing in to the publication as possible. If you want to buy something more high-brow and intelligent than perhaps your usual choice of low-brow gossip magazines, then this is the perfect magazine for you, it will broaden your horizons and ultimately make you appreciate the finer things in life.
If you have already tried out Stand magazine and you loved it then we think that you may also love Succour Magazine, it is a poetry publication that also likes to publish unknown writers. Both of these magazines are beautifully presented and contain great poetry so you can’t really go far wrong.
