This beautiful, weighty, hardback magazine is for seriously hardcore fashion devotees. A severely artistic look at what cutting edge fashion has to offer, complete with interviews with designers, stylists and artists.
There are numerous photo shoots dedicated entirely to complete collections of the greatest names in fashion; Prada, Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga to name just a few. Readers can literally turn the pages through designer collections, the latest trends and in depth discussions of the fashion world, punctuated with some stunning examples of make up and hair styling, captured in a range of artistic photographic style.
Self Service channels the feel of a look book but still maintains that glamour of a magazine.

This is a hardback fashion magazine from Paris. It is not cheap, but is well worth the outlay as the fashion photography with is always of such good taste. Each issue will have a theme, issue one was Denim, and top level photographers and fashion writers will feature regularly. Self Service magazine would make a wonderful gift.
With fashion moving on more rapidly than ever before, is it still even possible to keep up with the trends of each season? One second it’s florals and shabby chic, the next heroin chic, then tailoring, structure, lace, leather, one shoulder, strapless, maxi… you get what I mean. I’ve come to the conclusion that you are not actually supposed to keep up, not in the real world that is, as opposed to the fashion world.
I believe that you have to discover the few styles that not only suit you, but make you feel amazing when you look in the mirror. Whether that’s jeans and a jumper or an Giorgio Armani skirt suit, it doesn’t really matter as long as you can pound down the pavement knowing you look good.
I think the secret is to prioritise your body shape and your colouring when selecting outfits. If you have an hourglass figure, you want loose tailoring and a defined waist. Apples need to balance draped materials with more fitted clothes accentuating those slim hips. Slender figures can create curves with plenty of layering and cheeky waist belts, whereas pear shapes can work it in loose skirts and fitted tops.
Once you’ve found which shapes suit you, whether it be for pottering around the house or going to a black tie event, you will feel more comfortable expressing yourself via fashion.
