We love a magazine that knows how to not take itself seriously. There are a few cross-stitch magazines out there that have rather a serious outlook on life, and detailed and informative though they are they forget that the most important part of a hobby is having fun. Cross Stich Crazy magazine has fun coming out of its ears (if it had ears), and makes for a great read because of it.
There are of course many designs – after all what is more important in a cross-stitch mag than the actual designs for stitching – but it is the style and the tone of the magazine that really sets it apart. Every hobby, from restoring vintage motorcars to knitting, lives and dies by its community, and for the most part they are always warm and welcoming. The community spirit found with Cross Stitch Crazy (don’t worry, they’re not actually mentally imbalanced, simply fanatical about cross-stitch) is fantastic. There’s nothing quite as dispiriting as doing a hobby like this on your own, so why not find a few people who are as passionate as you about your hobby, whatever it may be, and meet up with them, work together on projects and gain a few firm friends.
