A great magazine for the train-spotters amongst us, Modern Locomotives Illustrated magazine is a bi-monthly publication that lets you enjoy the hobby from the comfort of your own home.

Focused, unsurprisingly, on images of modern trains, this magazine is absolutely filled with excellently shot pictures of pretty much every locomotive in operation across the UK. This magazine is printed on high-quality paper, which really helps the photographs stand out, and also includes the technical data of all the trains featured, from cab controls to fleet numbers to miles per hour and minutes taken.

Buy a single copy of MODERN LOCOMOTIVES ILLUSTRATED or a subscription of your desired length, delivered worldwide. Current issues sent same day up to 3pm! All magazines sent by 1st Class Mail UK & by Airmail worldwide (bar UK over 750g which may go 2nd Class).

We are firm supporters of the public transport network here at Newsstand. We believe that not only is public transport much, much more efficient and good for the environment than driving a car, but it is also much cheaper, and potentially much faster. There is, unarguably at the moment, a non-infinite supply of oil and thus petrol. If we accept this, then we also have to accept that we need to make the best possible use of that which we have remaining, and the clear answer is mass public transport.

Trains, however, are our particular favourite. Free from the hassle of trying to navigate the complex workings of a modern city and the never-ending headache of traffic jams, the train can take you right to where you want to be – as long as there is a station there.
