A fantastic resource and fascinating read for model plane and helicopter enthusiasts, Model Aircraft magazine is full of information useful to the hobby.

Inside you’ll find coverage off all the relevant news, as well as reviews of related books and details of up-coming events and where to buy models. The bulk of the magazine, however, is devoted to in-depth features, examining the history of some of the most famous planes as well as looking at models in great detail. All of this is well illustrated with high-quality colour photography and imagery, capturing historical planes at their very best.

Buy a single copy of MODEL AIRCRAFT or a subscription of your desired length, delivered worldwide. Current issues sent same day up to 3pm! All magazines sent by 1st Class Mail UK & by Airmail worldwide (bar UK over 750g which may go 2nd Class).

Model making seems to be a very popular hobby. We can barely move here at Newsstand for the piles of modelling magazines carefully sorted and ready for posting, teetering ominously over us as we work. Whatever you’re interested in, it seems to exist in a handy miniature form. If you’re going to do model making – and it seems a great many of you are – why not build something beautiful?

We can understand the appeal of tanks, soldiers and other assorted land based models. They’re great, highly detailed and so on. But, given the freedom that comes with miniaturisation, why spend your time on these okay looking models when you could be building something that captures the magnificence of flight?

Is there anything more beautiful that a fighter jet screaming across the sky, seemingly effortless in its mastery of nature? Or perhaps a jumbo jet, lumbering on the ground but graceful, unbound and elegant in the sky? The very nature of flight is to be free of earthly constraints, and in modelling you too are free of limits; go out there and build some model planes.
