I’ll never forget my trip to the Dordogne when I was little. My family rented a sweet little chateaux with some family friends, and we all spent hours lounging by or swimming in the pool. It was the year of the eclipse and the back garden was the perfect place to look at it… through sunglasses of course. We played with the little lizards that scampered around and made our way into town to chow down through hundreds of courses of incredible food, while our parents gorged themselves on the wine. The copy of French Entrée funnily enough has a piece on the Dordogne, depicting various gardens filled with colour. It is beautiful, but one place in France I’m still yet to go is Paris. Sure, there are a load of clichés surrounding the city, but there is a reason for that, or so I’m told. Friends of mine have told me that there is an atmosphere about the place, whispers of the bohemian revolution and of course, Oscar Wilde. He was buried there in 1900 and his grave is covered in lipstick marks from fans who have travelled from all over the world to pay their respects. As a writer, I feel I really ought to go and experience the magical city for myself.
