Is it a book? Is it a magazine? Or is it something in between?! It’s a Magazook!
This would obviously have made for a far catchier sounding word and marketing phrase than Bookazine (that jingle above practically writes itself), but then who are we to argue with the people behind Better Homes and Gardens – after they most like have both better homes AND gardens than we do.
BHG Bookazine is the kind of publication that as soon as you get it you want to try out all the recipes it details. And my, what a spread they offer! Tied together by a central concept or method, such as grilling, the bookazine offers an array of recipes that are similar enough to merit collecting together in one satisfyingly sized publication, yet varied enough to be interesting. After a while you might start to want to try new things, and by then the next issue of this bi-annual bookazine should be out.
But do not throw this away! The idea of the Bookazine, or Magazook as we feel they should have named it, is that it exists in a transient state between permanence and disposability, it is something you could keep for many a year and return to, or something that you could digest, and having enjoyed it moved on to the next thing.
