Elementum is a collectable, independent, ad-free journal that is unique in nature writing publishing (a growing and very popular genre especially among those who seek authenticity and reconnection). Our aim is for excellent writing to be a cornerstone of our brand, accompanied by commissioned artwork and photography, with a clean and controlled layout and printed in the UK to the highest production standards. Our content includes creative non-fiction, poetry, photo essays and interviews, and each edition is thematically led. Edition One launched in August and we’ve received orders from over 16 countries and are stocked in bookshops, lifestyle shops and galleries, including the Tate Modern and Newlyn Gallery. A high-end, couples-only hotel has also purchased a copy for each room stating that Elementum is exactly what they were looking for to enhance their guest experience.
Our readers comment on how beautiful and relaxing they find Elementum, and we have had extremely positive feedback from readers of other publications such as Kinfolk, Cereal, Another Escape, Lodestars and Ernest Journal.
Our sales show that we’re attracting both genders in equal proportion with interest from all demographics aged 25 and over. We support new and emerging talent as well as feature established writers and artists. Our contributors to Editions One and Two include Wyl Menmuir (The Many - Booker longest 2016), Rob Cowen (Common Ground - Wainwright nominee 2016), Catherine Hyde (Kate Greenaway medal four-times nominee) and Jane Darke (Held by the Sea), as well as interviews with Philip Marsden (The Levelling Sea and Rising Ground), and Jane Clarke (The River - shortlisted for the RSL Ondaatje award 2016).
