When reading this magazine I came across some really great make up and styling ideas that could be perfect for both parties and every day situations. My personal favourite, go-to make up style is the nude lips with a smoky eye. The smoky eye is a classic trick used by thousands of celebrities the world over because it gives a sultry yet slightly shabby look. By dusting shades of white on the inside corner of the eye and then use progressively darker shades as you move across the eyelid, you can make your eyes seem far bigger and this particular technique makes eyes of any colour stand out.
I am of the strong opinion that if you have a lot of eye make up going on, you must need lip shades natural and clean. However, who doesn’t love a splash of red lipstick from time to time? When experimenting with red lippy it is vital that you get the best shade for your skin tone. Cool brunettes can go for a deep scarlet, whereas warm blondes suit more post box red shades. Outline the lips in a matching coloured lip liner and perhaps use a smidge of brown eyeliner, flick on some mascara and you’re ready to rock!
Remember to keep consistent with the look you’re going for. A red rock star mouth would look a bit odd with most bohemian or hippie styles, and a smoky eye perhaps wouldn’t give the best impression in a suited up job interview.
