I find it incredible how many magazines prescribe endless dating tips to their readers and the worst thing is… we need them! The dating game is becoming ever more complicated with more and more rules wending their way into the works. For boys it’s all about dressing smart, flashing the cash, being a gentleman and not forgetting the more girls name. For the ladies, behaving like a lady seems to be essential, looking beautiful and not talking about your ex, Jersey Shore or cats. Seems simple enough, but I needn’t state the obvious to say that not everyone falls into such broad categories.
And then there’s the date itself; what do you do with this person?! Movies are impersonal because there is heavily limited conversation, dinner is cliché and for students like me, money restricts most other options! Personally, I think the easiest option is the discard all the pretence and rules, grab a couple of drinks and a homemade sandwich and head to the beach or the park…unless it’s raining, in which case a film, spaghetti and wine will normally go down a treat.
If a guy or girl isn’t happy in just your company and need vast amounts of other entertainment, they probably aren’t quite right for you. However, maybe that’s just my opinion!
