When we say mostly cool, Wired magazine is just that. Any male worth his salt will be keen to know about the latest gizmos and gadgets and the technological developments that are shaping our lives.
The only problem we have with Wired, is that it championed that "magazine on the ipad" thing, and we just can't be letting that go without a grumble.
It's not that it's not a great, inventive product, but the whole reading magazines on it, we just can't abide by that. Don't get us wrong, we could sell digital editions of magazines as soon as look at them, but we just don't see their point.
Try imagining the human race a couple of hundred years on. Will we look back and think "how cool, reading a magazine on a digital screen..."? We thinks not.
In fact, cast your thoughts back to the Black Death, when doctors of the age tried many things in search of a cure. One of the more popular treatments was a red hot poker up the rear end (I kid you not), in the similarly mistaken belief that it was a "good idea".
In 2210, the practice of reading magazines on a digital screen may well be remembered with disbelief on a level somewhere between the red hot poker and our tendency to sit in traffic everyday for 2 hours to get to work.
In fact we've decided to start a new Print Magazine "religion". Join it by writing to printmagrelig@newsstand.co.uk, voicing your support for the mighty Ink.
