Herself is a stunning biannual magazine that is based around fashion and fiction, but is comprehensively illustrated.
It's of great quality, perfect bound and on great paper. Here we see artists’ takes on our favourite celebrities, characters, designers and their latest collections. It vibrantly celebrates timeless world icons in modern designs and conducts interviews with magnificent women from time, for example Marilyn Monroe, Snow White and Cleopatra. Half fairytale and half fashion, Herself magazine is perfect for anyone with a creative eye and an appreciation for art. Really, something different and a publication to keep and dare I say, cherish.

I love that this magazine is essentially a beautifully illustrated and written bedtime story for grown ups. I will never lose my appreciation and love for Walt Disney films and, of course, the princesses. These elegant and feminine characters gave all little girls hope of perfect figures for life, love and first sight and the well known ‘happily ever after.’ There are those that whinge about these fairytale stories, claiming that they give young girls an unrealistic idea of adult life. Even if this is true, I think if everyone under the age of five had to learn about what adult life is like, loaded with bills, work and the stereotypical search for love, I think they would try to pull a Peter Pan and never grow up. But other than that, fairytales teach us the morals of goodies and baddies, playing the hero, looking out for one another. Perhaps if we took a few of the more general fairytale morals into everyday life things wouldn’t seem so monotonous. I think it is healthy for everyone to regress a little bit once in a while, and if that means I can justify watching Lion King’s first, second and third film in a row with my baby cousins, so be it.
