A wedding is something that requires time and patience to perfect. You’re only going to get married once (well, hopefully at least!) so you might as well make sure that your special day is exactly as you envisaged it – nothing should spoil it and you shouldn’t have to make any compromises to work around how you and your lucky partner want it.
We salute those who take the time to get things right, to do their wedding the way they want to. There’s nothing more boring than an identikit wedding, one where it is exactly the same as the classic, clichéd image. Live a little, make your wedding represent the two of you. Theme it how you want, use whatever colours you fancy. If your favourite food might seem a little strange, ignore anyone who says so and serve it up anyway.
Maybe you’re both mad keen on sports? Well, why not have an impromptu game of something after the ceremony – bride’s side versus groom’s. It would be a lot more fun than simply sitting around, making small talk with obscure relations. Perhaps you love music? Well, why not figure out a way to incorporate that – most people have wedding bands, why not be the band yourselves?
Take a moment to think about what represents you, and then go mad doing so. You’ll probably remember your wedding for the rest of your life whatever you do, but why not make it a unique memory rather than one similar to everyone else’s? NB
