Acoustic Guitar magazine is as the title implies completely devoted to acoustic guitars. Unlike other guitar magazines this magazine focuses entirely on acoustic playing. Each issue provides interesting profiles on experienced guitar legends as well as sheet music so that readers can learn songs by their favourite musicians. The magazines also provide a great deal of information on how to improve your technique. Acoustic guitar has a broad spectrum and focuses on all the different types of acoustic sounds such as the Flamenco or Blues styles.

Acoustic guitar magazine features lessons on how to play certain songs and how to create licks with new straightforward techniques. There are useful music charts with notes and diagrams clearly displayed to help the reader understand how to play tricky parts. The descriptions of the songs are very detailed and we are sure that the reader would find playing the new notes easy to understand from the helpful articles. The magazine also contains reviews of new and custom made guitars. The magazine clearly states the prices and often gives honest reviews of the new models.
One thing that struck us here at Newsstand about the Acoustic guitar magazine is that the layout is quite simple. Most pages have a straightforward background with one plain block colour and a plain heading. You are unlikely to find any particularly flashy graphics or jazzy backgrounds in this magazine! It seems that in our opinion the magazine has chosen not to include any flashy background because it simply wants to make the content of the magazine to be the main focus. The magazine doesn’t want to mess around with making the magazine look over the top; instead it wants the articles to speak for themselves. What the magazine lacks in appearance it makes up for with its informative and convincing writing. We don’t think that the simple layout would put any readers off. At the end of the day it’s really up to you the reader to decide and make your own opinion.
