Hotshoe International is a name that sounds like it has a fascinating meaning behind it, sadly it is not one that we know about. Regardless of its origin, it perfectly suits this slightly quirky, incredibly contemporary and unarguably trendy photography magazine. We have to say, that if we were to hand out an award for the best magazine cover out there, Hotshoe would definitely be up there in the quirky category – take a look using our handy cover viewer and you’ll see what we mean.
The imagery in Hotshoe is frankly second to none – it showcases work by the leading photographers in the world, exploring both the work of those artistic photographers and those who document human life. There is more than a hint of nudity likely to be found in any issue of Hotshoe, but this is crucial to the photographers’ work.
Is there any better way to reduce a human subject to the base than to capture an image of them naked? Stripped of all clothes, cultural meanings, situations and context. It is the best way to remind us that we are all the same, no matter what we wear, what we do and what we look like. And, of course, the human body is a beautiful thing. Well, most of them anyway. NB
