125 Magazine displays a collection of everything that falls under the title of ‘style.’ It is hugely centred around fashion, photography and styling, giving a huge range of innovative clothing, hair and make up ideas and striking photographs collaborating it all.
125 really does display fashion as artwork, combining pieces to create striking and imaginative looks from all genres, featuring elite groups of top designers, photographers, stylists and artists. Not a huge amount of text, but an expanse of imagery to get the mind working based around several themes.

Fashion and art walk hand in hand more often than not, especially when looking and runway and couture pieces. This is probably why models are so skinny and plain looking. Designers need mobile coat hangers so that nothing detracts from the clothes, rather than anything with real shape. The runway is a bizarre and beautiful place where designers try to come up with the next big thing and the most original presentation. Over the years we’ve seen carousels, invisible ‘walking on water’ stages, stages reaching lengths up to 3000 metres and many others besides. But could it be the same with stages as it is with the models? Could minimalist be more logical when presenting fashion? Some would argue yes, but personally, I like a show, the whole shebang. Runway fashion is always better with a bit of flair, and it’s the one place where the more outrageous the better – it is a place to be shocked and amazed. It’s this kind of ethereal world that 125 magazine seems to be trying to recreate, with great success. Behind the viewfinder of a camera can be a complete sanctuary, and it is certainly considered an art to create exciting and interesting images. Portrait and beauty shots have to say something more than just ‘clothes’, there has to be personality, theme and complimentary tones and ideas. It is clear to tell from 125 that fashion is so much more than mere material to those who read it.
