For a long time I was under the impression that men could eat whatever they liked, as long as they did regular exercise and I guess this is true to an extent. However, I got a glimpse into the world of obsessive body management and enhancement when I met a guy who was trying to go down a weight-class in kickboxing tournaments. He was exercising at the gym doing a vicious amount of weights and cardio for two hours every day without fail, all wearing layers and layers of fleecy jumpers. In addition to this, his diet mainly consisted of prunes and kale... yummy. As much as I admire this level of commitment to a sport, is it all worth it? I guess if you love exercise more than you love food, the answer to that is a definite yes, but for me, food wins the gold over a perfect figure any day. Don’t get me wrong, I keep very healthy and exercise when I can, but if someone puts a menu in front of it that has a big fat steak and chips with onion rings and corn on the cob, you’d have to pay me to go for the teeny tiny green salad option. Food is not your enemy! Personally, keeping happy and healthy is certainly the way to go about things. Life is to enjoy, and if for you that is living on a diet of prunes, or at the other end of the scale several Big Macs, then go nuts! As long as you’re happy in your skin, there ain’t a problem.
