Bringing you a monthly look at the world of jets,
Jets Monthly magazine (we love a nice descriptive title) is a high-flying aviation mag.
Each issue brings you the very latest jet-related news as well as features examining in-depth some of the most astonishing and elegant aircraft to have ever streaked across the sky.
Jets Monthly covers both modern and historical jets, giving equal space to both, and features significant coverage of military jet aircraft from the present and the past. This magazine also covers preservation and restoration, as well as comparisons between classics and community letters and reports ‘From the Cockpit’ and features some excellent photography.

Chocks away! As much as we love a bit of classic biplane and triplane action here at Newsstand, we must confess that we have a particular love for the jet engined aircraft. Perhaps we are particularly proud of the fact that the inventor of the turbojet engine was English – the sadly rather unrecognised Sir Frank Whittle, who frankly deserves much more public remembrance than he gets – or maybe it is the simple fact of the ludicrous speeds which the jet could propel an aerodynamic lump of metal through the sky. Perhaps it’s both.
The jet aircraft more often than not combines both form and function wonderfully, in no large part down to the demands of aerodynamics, resulting in sleek yet practical vehicles that can travel faster than the speed of sound. By quite some way.
Whilst the propeller engine aircraft is something of warm nostalgia, to us the Jet is something that still seems like it should be some kind of future technology. The ability of mankind to get big lumps of metal, glass and plastic up into the air on a commercially viable basis is astounding enough, but the fact that they are crucial to warfare is astounding to us. Perhaps we are easily amazed, but perhaps we simply recognise the wonder that is the jet engine and the marvellous machines that it has propelled up into the air. NB
