Acne Paper Magazine
Issues per Year:
Acne Paper is a breathtakingly bold and beautiful exploration of the artistic expression of the human body. Printed in a superior size (A3) to other magazines, this publication contains page after page of exquisitely observed photographs, drawings and other representations of the human form.
Alongside the contemporary work that dominates most of the well designed, textile-esque pages, there is also a discussion of art history, and the past expression of the human body. The body represents much of what we are, and is the unifying link between every human. Acne Paper will make an exceptionally good addition to any collection of art, or anyone interested in how we view ourselves and others.

Art books and magazines such as Acne Paper always leave me with more questions than when I started, and this is undeniably a good thing.
We walk around all day, eat, sleep, exercise (or not) and get up to all kinds of mischief, yet how often do we stop to appreciate the miraculous vessel that carries our consciousness? After reading this magazine I feel that I rarely think about what the body means, and it may well take some terrible life event before we all truly know how important the body is to the self. After all, we only truly appreciate something once it’s taken away from us.
But that’s rather a morbid thought. To a lot of people, the body is almost like clay – something that through our efforts we may shape and mould into an image. Sometimes this is achieved through exercise, other times through an excess of pizza, but whatever actions we take, they are reflected in our body. Our bodies tell our life story – scars from surgeries or accidents, weight from food or muscle from exercise. If how we look tells us so much, perhaps we should all take a bit more interest in our own bodies and those of the ones we love. You never know what you might find out.
However, if you are someone who can eat as much as they like and never get fat due to their excellent metabolism, you are one lucky, lucky person...
