If we ever when the lottery (heck, what am I saying, when we win the lottery. It’ll happen, you’ve just got to believe, and have a system (a system comprised of buying one ticket a week and hoping). My word this set of brackets got out of hand. Bye!) the very first thing we would do is celebrate with a massive party.
Once the hang-over has worn off, the very second thing we would do is scout around this lovely country for a spot of countryside in which to build a home. Not necessarily an overly ostentatious home, not one with a heli-pad or anything like that, just the perfect home to suit us.
That’s the joy of self-build; you can have whatever you want in your house and design it around your interests. For us that would mean a small swimming pool (because we like swimming, not simply as an ornament) and a library room. This would be the piece de la resistance of our house, a comfortable, cosy place where the walls are lined with books of all descriptions. A roaring fire place for the winter, comfy chairs and seats to accommodate as many as possible. Perfect.
If we were to go over the top and build a mansion, we reckon we would build a bouncy mansion just for the hell of it. Just like a bouncy castle, only full sized. That would confuse the neighbours. NB
