We think they chose a pretty good name for this magazine – L’Optimum meaning as it does the very best of things. It certainly does a very good job of covering all the best of things in life, but due to its pretty comprehensive coverage of just about everything we feel that they might as well have named it ‘La Monde’ – because it covers pretty much everything in the world.
Everything that a man could want to know about of course. There are far more magazines out there at women than men that provide a monthly look at what’s happening of interest around the world, and it’s high time that this imbalance was sorted out. Men are just as interested in the world around them as women, and a magazine that knows this and caters well to its audience is going to succeed.
There isn’t quite the same thing here in England as has been achieved in France with this magazine. Perhaps GQ is a fairly close match, but there are certainly not enough. Men! You like reading about things that interest you, don’t you? Whether it be sport, television, culture, cars, beautiful women, style or something entirely different, why not seek out such a magazine, and create a market for it to thrive in. Or better yet, why not start one yourself? How hard can it be? NB
