An extremely high quality, high brow bilingual French/English Architecture publication from Paris, Arch D'aujourd 'Hui Magazine is more of a journal than a magazine.
Translating as Architecture Today, Arch D'aujourd 'Hui features scholarly but fascinating articles on design, projects and designers, with a strong focus on Europe. Though somewhat expensive, it is also a heftily sized and very well produced publication, covering every topic of interest to designers and architects. It includes in depth examinations of specific projects, along with layouts and photography, and looks at upcoming design trends. The English texts make this excellent for anyone architect who’s French might be a little rusty.

Here at Newsstand we have a certain fascination with architecture and design, and to be perfectly frank we could while away many an hour reading the many different magazines on the subject. Of course we don’t because we’re busy sending out magazines across the world, but if we had the time, we would.
Arch D’aujourd ‘Hui is one that could occupy our interest more than most. French in origin (from the city of Paris to be precise), it offers a fascinating insight into design and architecture across Europe. Perhaps what fascinated us most, however, is the combination of layout/blueprint and photography. Design moving from sketch to reality is an incredibly interesting process, and perhaps one of the main reasons architects love their line of work is seeing their vision come to life.
On the other hand, it must be dispiriting to see your dream come to life but not as you had imagined, as the necessities and awkwardness of reality intrude unpleasantly upon your design. Perhaps the ground is unsuitable here, maybe your client can’t afford to finish the project. There are a thousand ways in which a plan can go awry, but the times when everything goes perfectly must surely make up for it. NB
